In the winter of 2015  Stephen Sondheim and Sir Cameron Mackintosh had a conversation about Tooting Arts Club’s pie-shop Sweeney Todd. As a result of that conversation, Cameron suggested that Tooting Arts Club re-build their beloved pie-shop on Shaftesbury Avenue, in the shell of an old nightclub.

Pies were served, gin was consumed and our pie-shop was packed to the rafters for thirteen weeks in what was described by the Guardian as:

‘The most remarkable West End transfer in living memory.”
